How should I prepare for Lifeguard Training?

I want to be a lifeguard this summer and I’m taking the classes early May and taking the certification test late May. I’m a decent swimmer (know all the strokes), but I feel like I should start working out now to get fit. Are there any suggested workouts (dryland or in the pool) or diet tips?
Lifeguarding, as opposed to competitive swimming or stuff like that, is more focused on skills, dealing with situations, and knowing how to respond and communicate properly. As long as you can swim decently, retrieve a brick from the bottom of the pool, and do shallow/deep/surface dives, you’re all set for the swimming component.
For beach lifeguarding, the swimming component may be more vigorous (for obvious reasons), and you’ll need to know the butterfly very well. But other than that, don’t worry!
You’ll be doing more things like how to do a proper signal to other guards, first aid, CPR, situations and how to deal (i.e stroke, missing child, choking), and spinals.
