    Experts are now saying the chest compressions alone are sufficient. A lot of people don’t like putting their mouths on the victim and I don’t blame them. Fear of AIDs, etc.

    But if I found someone who needed First Aid, on a moral ground, I would try and help them. out. But I guess you got to do what you think is right. So I would not leave anyone to die, I would help, but I would be careful while do so.

    Defibrilators are more common than you think,they have them at airports train stations some Police Forces have them and other big companies,so not such a ridiculous request.

    Worried that I will help someone and they might think they have a oppatunity to take me for every penny and take it, plus I have very little. Or they might stop screaming wolf, even there is no wolf there, only sheep.

    At the time I was just having a rant. I did learn first aid as I thought it was a good idea to know. But as soon as I did, people where going on saying that I would be held liadle for saving peoples lives, as I touched them and they can hold you liable for that and some people will take issue. That’s what I was told, also if there was a issue while saving their lives, people might take issue of me, even if they would of been dead if I had done nothing. Find it scary….

    WOW…O.O……that is a really dush thing to say…..ya just walk right passed them….what u dont care…..what if it was someone from ur family that was hurt and u didnt know cpr….and then someone who does know cpr walks right by them and says i cant help cause im scared that they wont survive and it will be my fault…. ppl are so selfish these days >.>

    one point comes to mind the AED dose not try to start the heart it stops the heart to allow it to start again in its normal rytham as in a person who the AED can shock the hear has not stoped it has can in to a strange rytham called fibulation best way to think of it is insted of beating noraly the heart is now like a bag of worms then AED (automated external defibulator) as the name say defibulates by stoping hte hear and then letting hte heart restart it like a reset button on your pc i guess

    ehhh……believe it or not guys this is how you do CPR, none of you are obviously qualified as you would know there is a reason for doin each and every one of these steps to ensure the person survives..it’s better to save someone than to scoff at the steps..>: (

    Umm… is it possible for a heart to beat while the person isn’t breathing? Like… i feel a bit apprehensive about slamming my fist into a persons chest at 100bpm if their heart is beating lol.

    Also, must the AED be used if the situation calls for CPR anyway?

    “gently shaking there shoulders” ?? it depends on the position of his head. I’d never do that as far as I’m not sure that the guy on the ground doesn’t have a.neckinjury or a headtrauma. if it comes to CPR maybe it doesn’t make difference anymore but at the very first moment I don’t know that

    adults tend to take in a breath before collapsing. which is why you go straight to compressions. This is different to children, then you give 5 rescue breaths, i’ve just done my pedatric first aid :)
